Nantucket Lightship Basketry represents the finest in American tradition, with a rich and storied history.
I specialize in creating these works of art, and also offer a variety of services to help you learn ABOUT and HOW this weaving tradition. I can directly assist via instruction, or can set students up with the tools and materials needed to pursue solo learning.
I also offer basketry lectures and demonstrations to interested groups, both locally in East Central Florida, or remote via teleconference. In some cases I am willing to travel.
Learning kits

The kits include authentic weaving materials, and teach real Nantucket basketry techniques. Its a great way to explore your talent as a weaver, and the finished products make great handmade gifts!

Lessons
If you've ever wanted to learn the exquisite craft of Nantucket basketry, look no further! I offer private or group lessons by appointment, either in-person or through video conferencing.
My studio is in Indialantic Florida, a lovely barrier island community an hour east of Orlando, on the Space Coast.
Beginners start with a basic round basket or bowl and build their skills from there. Get in touch with me to discuss the particulars and plan your lesson.

These kits are Indialantic Basket EXCLUSIVES. My kits include everything you need to construct ~ONE~ beautiful Nantucket style ornament (or pair of shakers) of any color (painting the pieces is part of the craft) in either classic or spiral weaving pattern.
Each kit includes a specialized mold plus comprehensive instructions to guide you step by step through the traditional weaving and assembly process using hand-selected high quality materials.
This kit provides an opportunity to experience Nantucket Lightship Basket Weaving without a substantial initial equipment investment, and will allow you to sample the techniques used by Nantucket craftsmen for over 100 years.
